Charles Nutter
Over the past year, JRuby on Rails has become more and more stable, and has started to become the platform of choice for many applications. Performance meets or exceeds standard Ruby, deployment is getting simpler with Java web containers, Mongrel-like single-process servers, and Mongrel itself as options. Added to all this, you can call Java libraries and integrate with existing Java applications.
This session will take a simple Rails app and demonstrate JRuby-based deployment and integration options. You'll see several ways to run JRuby on Rails in various settings, and learn how easy it is to use Java libraries from Rails applications.
