Rails on AIR
This presentation focuses on the why and how of using Adobe AIR, Flex 3 and Ruby on Rails 2 together, specifically focusing on HTTPService, XML, REST and RubyAMF. There will be a short slide presentation followed by an extensive code walkthrough and demo of a Flex 3 AIR application which is powered by Rails on the server. AIR-specific topics such as synchronizing client and server databases (and implications for how to use ActiveRecord) will hopefully be covered, time permitting.
